The three Walmart stores in St. Lawrence County are reporting, predictably, busy shopping crowds last night and today.
The world’s largest retailer makes a big splash for Black Friday and even Thanksgiving night, trying to generate excitement with special sales and other promotions, and the stores in Ogdensburg, Massena and Potsdam are no different.
“Busy,” said Potsdam store manager Jeff Bonno about today’s crowd.
He said he believes it is busier this year than last year.
The big movers he said were movies, tires, and Black Friday sale items.
It’s no different at the Ogdensburg and Massena stores.
A shift manager in Massena said, almost breathlessly, that it was “very busy” there.
And an assistant manager at the Ogdensburg store said the biggest movers there are what she called “blitz items,” things with special pricing for Black Friday.
None of them reported any incidents during the frenzy that might discourage shoppers.
