The unemployment rate in St. Lawrence County remained at 8.3 percent in November, as it was in October.
That follows several months of decline, according to figures from the New York State Department of Labor.
In November 2012, the rate stood at 9.3 percent.
The number of people working in St. Lawrence County in November was down a bit from October, at 43,600 compared with 44,000, according to DOL estimates.
But the number of unemployed was also down in November, at 3,900 from 4,000 in October.
To our east, in Franklin County, the jobless rate stayed at 8.1 percent from October to November. A year ago, it was at 9.2 percent.
In Jefferson County, to our west, the rate ticked up from 8.7 percent in October to 9.0 percent in November. A year ago, it was at 9.7 percent.
