POTSDAM – Today’s Hair and Day Spa, 36 Market St., is “giving back to the community” by sponsoring a $360 “makeover” to benefit Hospice & Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley as well as other charitable fundraisers.
Last year, the salon raised $3,500 for the Canton-Potsdam Hospital navigation program, according to owner Shelly Murray.
The salon will start selling tickets for $10 in a tent outside the salon during the Potsdam Summer Festival July 12 – 14 to nominate a person to receive the free makeover in October. Tickets will remain on sale until Sept. 29.
Today’s Hair also plans to sell hair extensions and feathers of many colors to represent a charitable cause. A “Haircuts for a Cause” event is planned for 1 – 3 p.m. July 14, with proceeds also donated to Hospice.
