POTSDAM -- Today’s Hair and Day Spa presented Canton-Potsdam Hospital’s breast cancer navigation program with a $1,500 donation from the “Fight Like a Girl” Cuts for a Cause fundraising event Oct. 17-18.
October was Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Today’s Hair and Day Spa was one of many efforts here and abroad to raise funds to fight breast cancer.
The hospital’s navigation program is available to all Canton-Potsdam Hospital patients, cancer survivors, and their loved ones. Funds from the navigation program are used to help patients pay for gas to and from appointments, wigs, medication, payment of utility or food bills, supportive care, or miscellaneous items as needed.
Breast cancer is the second most common newly diagnosed cancer and second leading cause of cancer death among women in the U.S. (www.cancer.org).
For further information on the breast cancer navigation program, contact Jacqueline Dow at 261-5935 or jdow@cphospital.org.
