Thousands expected at St. Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce’s Craft, Food & Wine Show Friday and Saturday in Potsdam

POTSDAM -- All the booth spaces will be filled when the St. Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce’s popular Craft, Food & Wine Show is open Friday and Saturday, Dec. 9 and 10, in Clarkson University's Cheel Center.

Last year the growing attraction of the holiday season drew more than 4,000 people.

This year nearly 150 booths in the arena and in the lobby will be filled with crafters and food and wine vendors from the North Country and all over the state, and from Vermont and Connecticut.

"There are more food representatives this year," said the county chamber's Jo Ann Roberts. There will be several bakers, a chocolatier, and producers of honey, maple products, cheese from raw goat and cow milk and free-range chickens. There will be a maker of beef sticks and jerky, and a producer of hand-made sausages.

The booth slots filled up fairly quickly this year, and there is a long wait list of people who want to get in if anyone else drops out, Roberts said.

Among the 24 spaces in the Cheel lobby will be some venders who will be there both days, some Friday only and some Saturday only, "so if someone comes to shop Friday and comes back on Saturday, they will see some new vendors in the lobby," Roberts said.

"We're expecting another huge turnout this year," Roberts said. She has been to many shows like this in the area, she said, "and this is the show that everybody waits for and talks about."

The show takes place from noon to 8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 9 and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10.

Entry fee remains at $1 a person.
