North Country television viewers who now can only get NBC broadcasts from Plattsburgh or Syracuse will soon have a station in Watertown showing NBC programs.
August, Georgia-based SagamoreHill Broadcasting says the station, NBC Watertown, will begin broadcasting at 12:01 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 1.
“I’m proud to be working with SagamoreHill Broadcasting and to be heading up the first NBC television station in the market,” said NBC Watertown’s General Manager Mark Gaines. “With strong programming like “The Today Show”, “The Voice”, “NFL Sunday Night Football”, “Saturday Night Live”, “America’s Got Talent”, “The Olympics”, “Nascar”, “The Blacklist”, and etc., this station is poised to really make an impact to help our community,” Gaines said in the press release.
The station will carry other top syndicated programming including “Family Feud” featuring Steve Harvey, “The Wendy Williams Show”, “Access Hollywood”, and “The Celebrity Name Game”. The station has plans to begin a news department in early 2018, and expects to have cable and satellite agreements soon.
SagamoreHIll Broadcasting, LLC has television stations in Montgomery, Ala., Columbus, Ga., Fort Wayne, Ind., Watertown, Duluth, Minn., Rochester, Minn. and Corpus Christi, Texas.
