Peak Moment TV, underwritten on WCKN cable channel 30 in the Potsdam-Canton area by The Center for Excellence in Communication at Clarkson University and the Seymour Family of Potsdam, features natural resource analyst Sean Brodrick, who provides a perspective on what may be coming for the economy and how to prepare for it, to be aired Monday and Tuesday, Jan. 10 and 11, at 7 p.m.
The author of ”The Ultimate Suburban Survivalist Guide,” Brodrick speaks of peak oil and other resource declines as well as a lesson he draws from Hurricane Katrina: Don’t rely on government to save you during disasters. Urging us to prepare for hard times while we’re in good times, he covers smart money moves, food and water storage, basic preparations in case you have to evacuate, and creating bonds with your neighbors to increase home security.
Peak Moment programs air every week at 7 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday on WCKN, exploring positive responses to energy decline and climate change through local community action.
The show list for January includes Jan. 17 and 18: Beyond Back Yard Sustainability; Jan. 24 and 25: Partners in Preparedness - Neighborhoods and Emergency Responders; Jan. 31 and Feb. 1, A Permaculture Course for Busy People.
