POTSDAM -- Military Advanced Education recently designated SUNY Potsdam top school in its 2015 MAE Guide to Colleges and Universities, measuring best practices in military and veteran education, according to SUNY Potsdam. The guide was released in the December issue of MAE and is available online at www.mae-kmi.com.
The guide presents results of a questionnaire of the military-supportive policies enacted at more than 600 institutions including private, public, for-profit, not-for-profit, four-year and two-year colleges.
This year, institutions were evaluated on their military culture, financial aid, flexibility, on-campus support and online support services, SUNY Potsdam said.
More than 150 active-duty service members, veterans and their families members are currently enrolled as SUNY Potsdam students, either on the Potsdam main campus or through the college's extension center in Watertown. Soldiers, veterans and their families are enrolled in a number of undergraduate and graduate programs at SUNY Potsdam, with one of the more popular majors being teacher education, the school said.
