CANTON – The SUNY Canton Small Business Development Center (SBDC) will host the fifth annual Women’s Business Bootcamp from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 2 at the SUNY Canton Campus Center.

“This year, more than ever, it’s important for women-owned businesses to take advantage of training and networking opportunities such as the bootcamp,” says SBDC Director Dale Rice. Last year’s conference was attended by about 50 women from across the North Country.

Bootcamp attendees may attend mini training sessions on credit issues and energy efficiency programs for small business.

Cathy Pokines from the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Syracuse office will speak about the SBA’s new Women Owned Small Business program.

A panel of lenders will share information on their funding programs and requirements for financing approval.

And there will be a Resource Expo where area businesses and organizations can showcase their products and services and speak with attendees.

There is a $45 charge per person. Exhibitor registration is $30 including lunch. Registration for those wishing to attend the Bootcamp and exhibit in the Expo is $65.

For more information or to register, contact the Canton SBDC at 386-7312.

The event is supported by the Center for Entrepreneurship at Clarkson University and SeaComm Federal Credit Union.
