The Sugar Creek/Wilson Farms store on Market Street in Potsdam and Norwood have closed.
The gas pumps at both Wilson Farms at both locations are covered. In Norwood, the phone was unanswered this afternoon.
Meanwhile a woman who identified herself as the manager of the store at 80 Market St., Potsdam, across from an existing Stewart’s Shop, referred all questions to Wilson Farms headquarters in Williamsville, near Rochester.
Officials at the headquarters were not immediately available for comment.
In 2011, 7-Eleven purchased the Wilson Farms chain of stores, including the Sugar Creek-brand stores, which had been acquired earlier by Wilson Farms.
Stewart's Shops recently acquired five of the Sugar Creek/Wilson Farms locations in the North Country including the Maple Street, Potsdam and State Street, Heuvelton stores.
Meanwhile in Wilmington, northeast of Lake Placid, the town will lose its only gas station when the Wilson Farms convenience store closes next Tuesday, April 9, according to the Adirondack Daily Enterprise.
