STOCKHOLM -- A 19-year-old cashier is facing two misdemeanors after selling alcohol to a minor who was working with state police in an attempt to catch cashiers making underage sales.
On Thursday, troopers used what they describe as “an underage volunteer” to go into a dozen local businesses and attempt to buy alcohol.
Nina M. French, 19, of Winthrop allegedly sold alcohol to the volunteer, who state police did not identify, at Village Market. She is charged with first-degree unlawful dealing with a child, a class A misdemeanor, and prohibited sale of alcohol to a person under age 21, a misdemeanor under state alcohol beverage control law.
She was released with appearance tickets for Stockholm Town Court on March 15 at 6 p.m.
