Safety training for the employees of organizations located in the St. Lawrence County is available for free through a Department of Labor Hazard Abatement Board Grant.

A range of topics are being presented through a collaboration of the Jefferson County IDA, Lewis County Office of Planning & Economic Development and CITEC Business Solutions so that local companies can easily access safety training, with funding provided by New York State Occupational Safety and Health Hazard Abatement Board through the OSH T+E Fund.

Upcoming topics include: construction focus 4: falls, from 8 a.m. until noon and F4: struck by, from 1 until 5 p.m. p.m. on Friday, Jan. 8 in Watertown; and, hazard communication on Friday, Jan. 22 in Watertown, from 8 a.m. until noon.

Safety training topics are scheduled for once or twice each month, with future sessions to include OSHA 10-Hour (general industry), arc flash training, housekeeping and ergonomics, among others.

Advance registration is required and limited to the first 30 registrants for each topic. Deadline to register for January topics is Jan. 7 at noon. Info or register: 268-3778 x21.
