AKWESASNE -- On Monday, July 27 St. Lawrence County officials will seek public input on how the former General Motors site should be used after the contamination is cleaned.

It will be in the Akwesasne Housing Authority Conference Room from 6 to 8 p.m.

St. Lawrence County has been awarded a Brownfield Opportunity Area (BOA) grant from the New York State Department of State to develop a Revitalization Plan for the Massena BOA, which encompasses the former GM Massena site.

This forum will provide an opportunity for community members, residents, business owners, local government officials and interested parties to:

• Help develop and refine a vision for the future of the Massena BOA.

• Hear a short presentation on the Massena BOA process and efforts to date.

• Review preliminary maps and potential future use options.

Free and open to the general public, this is an open house-style event with a project overview presentation at 6:30 p.m.

To learn more about the Massena BOA process, go to massenaboa.skeo.com.
