St. Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce’s annual dinner Oct. 10 in Potsdam, reservations open

CANTON – Reservations are being taken for the St. Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce’s annual dinner Oct. 10 at SUNY Potsdam.

Awards will be presented for Business of the Year, Community Service, and Volunteer of the Year. Live and silent auctions will also be featured during the evening.

It all begins with cocktails at 6 p.m. and dinner at 7 p.m. in the Student Union Multi-Purpose Room at SUNY Potsdam.

Reservations may be made through the chamber at 386-4000 or Jo Ann Roberts at jroberts@stlawrencecountychamber.org. The cost is $45 per person or $430 for a corporate table of 10 people.

Nominations for Business of the Year are still being accepted. Anyone may submit the name of a business they believe has shown a positive impact and creative influence on business and people of St. Lawrence County, and led to a better quality of life within the area.

Nominations should be sent to the County Chamber, 101 Main Street, Canton, NY 13617; faxed to 379-0134, or emailed to jroberts@stlawrencecountychamber.org. The entries should include the nominator’s name, business, address, phone and email, as well as information about the business they are nominating, including why it should be selected by the chamber as Business of the Year, contact person, phone and email. Deadline for nominations is Sept. 27 at 5 p.m.

Businesses which have been honored in the past include: Canton-Potsdam Hospital, Pepsi-Cola Ogdensburg Bottlers, Penski, Inc., NuMed, Inc, Corning Inc., Potsdam Hardwoods Inc., AAA St. Lawrence County, Nicholville Telephone, Co, Sunfeather Soap; Tamarack Tree Service, Northern Sharpening, McCadam Cheese, Heritage Cheese House, Northern Merchant Services, SeaComm Federal Credit Union, Kinney Drugs, Mort Backus and Sons and Morning Star Homes, and Coakley’s Ace One Hardware.
