CANTON — From March 1 to March 30 St. Lawrence County will accept applications from property owners to add land to Agricultural Districts 1 and 2.
The county’s agricultural districts help protect farmland and farming in the county. Agricultural district 1 primarily consists of agricultural lands in the western and southern portions of the county, and agricultural district two spans across the county’s northern and eastern regions. Digital maps showing whether land is in an ag district are available online at http://new.dancgis.org/ima
Applications to add land to Ag District 1 or 2 can be accessed at www.agdistricts.stlawco.org, obtained at local municipal offices, calling the County Planning Office at 315-379-2292, or emailing dhenophy@stlawco.org.
Applications will be accepted until March 30.
