STAR LAKE -- Slic Network Solutions, a local provider of phone and high-speed Internet services, will host an open house to share information about its new high speed services in southern St. Lawrence County.
The event is set for 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, June 8 at the Clifton-Fine Community Center, 4208 State Rt. 3, Star Lake.
Scheduling of installation of high-speed Internet service and phone service has already begun in the Star Lake North/Fine area, with the Star Lake South area to begin later this month.
Other areas along the Route 3 corridor, including Cranberry Lake, Wanakena, and Piercefield, will come on-line during the late summer and early fall. Slic is encouraging residents of those areas to attend the June 8 event, where they can pre-order services.
Customer service representatives will be available to answer questions and process applications. Service area maps and samples of the equipment used for a typical residential installation will be on display. Installation and repair technicians will discuss installation and show how fiber-splicing works. Free hot dogs and soda will be served to the first 200 attendees.
Area residents who are not able to attend the event and who have questions can call Slic Network Solutions at (866) 261-7518 (press 1 for customer service) or visit www.slic.com.
Customers can order and pre-order service to get the earliest possible installation date. Slic says installations are now booked nearly three weeks in advance.
