MASSENA – With six potential developers having failed to pursue redevelopment of the former Slavin’s downtown property, the Business Development Corporation says it is stepping up efforts to market and sell the building.
New signs promoting the building’s possibilities to potential developers have been posted in the windows of the property at Main and Water streets.
In recent weeks, BDC has been working with site selection firms and websites to market the facility online. A dozen firms have been contacted in the past two weeks, said a prepared statement from BDC.
Since the Slavin’s request for proposal was issued by the Village of Massena, the BDC has conducted redevelopment discussions with approximately six potential investors, the BDC statement said. Each of the parties declined the pursue the opportunity after reviewing the RFP and property appraisal, the BDC statement added.
For more information about the property or to receive a copy of the Request for Proposal, contact Jason Clark at the BDC at 769-8484 or bdc@massenaworks.com.
