MASSENA – The shoe store Shoe Dept. Encore is adding more than 4,000 square feet to its selling space at St. Lawrence Centre with its move into the former Hacketts retail space at the mall on NYS Hwy. 37.

The new store will comprise 12,162 square feet.

The Shoe Dept. Encore division of Shoe Dept. stores began in 20008 and offers double or triple the sales space of a standard Shoe Dept. store and carries a wider variety of shoes and price points, including the brands Eastland, Timberland, Tommy Hilfiger, Hush Puppies, Life Stride, Rocky Boots, K Swiss, Reebok, Nike, Keds, New Balance and Hi-Tec.

“This is Shoe Dept.’s second expansion in our center, and we are very excited about it,” said St. Lawrence Centre Marketing/Specialty Leasing Manager Ronald Patnode.

Patnode said St. Lawrence Centre now has the largest shoe store in northern New York, carrying over 15,000 shoes.

The store’s parent company, Show Show, has 1,124 locations in 37 states.
