MASSENA -- Seacomm Federal Credit Union will close its 79 Main St. branch on Friday at 6 p.m.

The ATM there will remain open.

They are consolidating all of their Massena operations at their new and expanded main branch at 30 Stearns Street.

The company added 15,700 square feet to the main branch. It now houses their call center, commercial loan and risk management departments.

In December, Seacomm CEO Scott Wilson said the expansion would create 18 to 28 jobs and allow them to retain 106.

Local attorney Randy Peets purchased the Main Street building and it to the Town of Massena. They will turn it into the Celine G. Philibert Cultural Center and Museum. It will replace the Massena Museum on East Orvis Street.

On June 6, Seacomm will host its yearly open house and Charter Day at the main branch. From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., it will include hot dogs, complimentary beverages and ice cream. There will also be building tours and bounce houses.
