MASSENA -- SeaComm Federal Credit Union is moving ahead with its Pay-It-Forward program, which a news release from the credit union says “was created as a year-long focus of giving back.”

North Country elementary schools who received donations included: Jefferson in Massena, Nightengale in Massena, Madison in Massena, Trinity Catholic in Massena, Salmon River, St. Lawrence Central, Potsdam Central, Norwood-Norfolk Central, Parishville-Hopkinton Central, Colton-Pierrepont, Canton Central, Hermon-DeKalb Central, John F. Kennedy in Ogdensburg, Grant C. Madill in Ogdensburg, Lisbon Central and Heuvelton Central.

Just in time for students returning to school, the marketing department of SeaComm purchased, sorted, packaged and delivered thousands of crayons, pens, folders, notebooks, art kits and more to 33 elementary schools in the region.

This supplies will not only assist children in need, but also elementary teachers who, in the past, have supplied provisions for their classrooms from their own pockets. The schools are all within the communities that SeaComm serves, as well as other surrounding towns.

“The collective goal of SeaComm’s initiative is to perform genuine acts of kindness throughout the North Country,” Tyler LeBoeuf, a Seacomm marketing communications specialist, said in a prepared statement from his employer. “We hope this will encourage others to do the same for their friends, neighbors and perfect strangers.”
