RENSSELAER FALLS -- A Rensselaer Falls taxidermist won multiple awards at the united Taxidermist Association Convention held in Syracuse recently.

Brian A. Matthie, of Nature’s Vision Studio of Taxidermy, LLC, was awarded “Best of Category” in the professional waterfowl division.

He was awarded two first-place and two second-place ribbons for his waterfowl and habitat entries at the convention.

The competition is held annually to allow taxidermists from across the state to showcase their skills and further their training through seminars.

Matthie who attended the event for the first time, said he plans to attend the event annually.

Nature’s Vision Studio of Taxidermy, LLC was established in April 2013 in Rensselaer Falls.

What started out as a hobby, had led to a business.

Matthie has trained one on one with award winning avian taxidermists as well as attended seminars held during the state conventions for the past two years.
