POTSDAM -- The Sugar Shack Bakery and Cafe is up and running at its new 141 Market St. home in the former Tardelli's building.

"We love the new location and everybody is enjoying it just as much as we are," owner Karen Rayburn said. The full-service bakery and café originally started business on outer Market Street just north of the Price Chopper Plaza.

The bakery is located in the southern part of the building where the main Tardelli’s dining room used to be located. The building was recently purchased by Con Mahoney.

The bakery opened Dec. 28 in the new locations, but things aren't quite back to normal yet.

"We will be starting our fish fry on the First Friday in February," she said.

As for breakfast, lunch and baked goods, Rayburn said these are available just like before.

"We serve breakfast and lunch throughout the day," she said.

Rayburn said pies, buttermilk donuts, homemade muffins, cookies and cupcakes are still available at the store, but asked customers looking for something different to give a day our two in preparation.

"If it's a speciality item, we just ask for a bit of notice," she said.

Sugar Shack is open Tuesday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The bakery is closed on Mondays.
