POTSDAM -- The Bicknell Corporation is looking for people to participate in their “Winter Blues” makeover contest.

First prize is $1,500 worth of furniture, appliances or building materials needed to makeover a room of the winner’s choice. Second place wins up to $750 in furniture, appliances and building supplies. Third prize is a 46-inch TV valued at $650.

To enter, visit Bicknell Appliance & Home Interiors, 46 Market St., any time after Jan. 15 and fill out an application along with a one-page description of why one would like to have the room of their choice made over. Applicants will need to include two or three recent photos of the room. Households are limited to one entry each.

Questions can be answered when filling out the forms in the store. Entries must be received by Feb. 29.

Judges will consult with Bicknell’s in-house decorator Mary Valentine and the named will be announced in North Country This Week and on B99.3 on March 17.

Valentine will donate her time to the first and second place winners to help with room design, choice of materials and any other advice needed while transforming the room.
