POTSDAM -- Jamey Hoose of Potsdam has been named the new director of Clarkson University’s Cheel Campus Center/Arena.

Hoose, who has spent the past seven years as assistant athletic director for facilities and recreation at SUNY Potsdam, will work closely with Clarkson Associate Athletic Director Scott Smalling with the planning, organization and supervision of the 24-year-old Cheel Campus Center/Arena.

"We are very fortunate to have someone of Jamey's ability joining our staff," stated Clarkson Athletic Director Steve Yianoukos. "He is an energetic individual who will play a major role in the development of events and activities at Cheel Arena."

Along with developing and promoting diverse activities and services at Cheel, Hoose will oversee administration of all game management for the Golden Knights Division I Men's and Women's programs, including tickets sales.

"I am thrilled to be joining Clarkson University and the outstanding team of coaches, administrators and staff in the Athletic Department," said Hoose. "I've been a Clarkson fan my entire life, and have attended games since I was four years old watching from the wooden seats at Walker Arena. I look forward to the excitement and challenges that await this organization as we build on the momentum of last year's Women's Hockey National Championship. I am also very thankful to my colleagues at SUNY Potsdam for all of the great experiences and opportunities that they've allowed me to be part of over the last seven years."

A 2001 graduate of Clarkson, Hoose planned and directed all operations, events and game management for the Division III athletic facilities at SUNY Potsdam. He led the Bears' Athletic Department though the design and construction of the recent $8.7 million renovation to the ice arena and the $400K field house upgrades.

Hoose has also been involved in the Potsdam business community, acting as a sales and marketing representative for Sullivan's Office Supply, and as owner and operating manager for Videorama.

He has served on the Potsdam Recreation Board, with the Potsdam Junior Hockey Association and the Potsdam Youth Lacrosse Association as well as on the Potsdam Chamber of Commerce.
