POTSDAM -- The Potsdam Chamber of Commerce will conduct two ribbon cuttings Saturday, June 3.

The first will be at noon at America’s Own Rent to Own, which opened a few weeks ago at 29 Market St., the former location of Northern Music. America’s Own Rent to Own will have an open house as well.

Also on June 3, the chamber will welcome the North Country Tigers semi-pro football team to Potsdam with a ribbon cutting at the first Sandstone Bowl. The game is being held at the Potsdam High School turf field.

They will play the Upstate Predators.

Pre-game ceremonies begin at 6:30 p.m. and kickoff is at 7 p.m. General admission is $5. Children 10 and younger and military personnel with valid ID will be admitted free.

The North Country Tigers was formed in the Fall of 2016 by team owner Cody Jenne of Norwood.

Jenne is a 2016 graduate of SUNY Canton with a major in sports management. The Tigers are a part of the Northeastern Football Alliance.

The season schedule is available at North Country Tigers on Facebook.
