POTSDAM -- The Chamber of Commerce is seeking businesses to volunteer their storefronts for a Clarkson University pride event prior to that school’s scheduled hockey face off versus rival St. Lawrence Feb. 4.
The Cold Out Gold Out 2017 starts Friday, Feb. 3, and the chamber hopes to enlist local businesses to allow Clarkson students to decorate store frontage in Clarkson colors for the event. Event organizers are anticipating that community members and visiting alumni will flock downtown to Ives Park Friday night to participate in activities aimed to pump up the crowd for Saturday night’s scheduled game. Music and fireworks will cap off the night.
Window displays must be completed between Jan. 30 and Feb. 2. The storefronts will judged Friday, Feb. 3. The students are to return Feb. 6 to remove all displays from storefronts.
Potsdam chamber also seeks organizations or groups who wish to offer activities and games for kids and families in Ives Park Feb. 3, from 7:30-9 p.m.
Contact the chamber at 268-6468 for more information, or to volunteer.
