POTSDAM -- Cloud Chaser Vapor has opened its second location in St. Lawrence County at 2A Main St. selling hand-crafted ejuices, vaping machines and accessories.

The business is co-owned by Emily Orologio and Mark LaFountain of Norfolk. The have operated Cloud Chaser Vapor at 14 South Main St. in Norwood for the past year.

“We are a full service bar and lounge with samples available,” Orologio said.

The new store, which held a soft opening Nov. 4, is located where the former Village Wine & Liquors used to be, behind Sergi’s pizzeria.

“We wanted to open another location to better serve the community…there is a lot of foot traffic here,” she said.

They carry Vice Versa with is made in Watertown and Valhalla which is based out of Massena.

They also carry their own premium line called Cloud Chaser Vapor. Flavors include Berry Cloud which is wild berries and pomegranates, Puffin which features a melon blend, Jetstream which is a berry candy and Cloud9 which tastes like berries and cereal.

Orologio says they installed new flooring, painted the walls and added display cases, countertops and seating for customers.

A lounge area with pub tables and couches is expected to be added to some of the additional empty space in the store. They also offer free wi-fi.

“I want it to be a relaxing environment,” she said.

“Cloud Competitions” are on Orologio’s radar too. The events feature people vaping to create the biggest smoke clouds, vape blowing distance and tricks including making the vape look like jellyfish and more.

Vaping is often used as a way to help people quit smoking. Juices come in a variety of levels of nicotine including zero.

“We see people of all ages but our major demographic is 18 to 30 year olds and college students,” she said.

“A lot of people see it as fun, neat and cool while others use it as a way to quit smoking and they often stick with it,” Orologio said.

Cloud Chaser Vapor is a member of the Potsdam Chamber of Commerce and is working on an official grand opening event.

The owners work the bulk of the hours will have help from at least employee at each store.

They plan to open Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. until 9 a.m. and will be closed on Sundays.
