POTSDAM -- Orthopedic surgeon Dr. Luc Perrier has re-joined the medical staff of Canton-Potsdam Hospital after practicing for a brief period in Ogdensburg.

His practice is located in Canton in the E. J. Noble Professional Building at 80 E. Main St. He began seeing patients Feb. 15.

Perrier has performed orthopedic surgery on local and nationally recognized athletes. He performs the full range of orthopedic surgery for most conditions of the musculoskeletal system -- the bones, ligaments, and joints that enable movement as well as support and protect the body.

Perrier will work alongside orthopedic surgeons Jeffrey L. Haasbeek and John B. Savage as part of the trauma team in CPH’s provisionally certified level three trauma effort.

“Dr. Perrier is known throughout the area as a real practical orthopod. He individualizes care, especially within the arena of sports medicine, which helps keep athletes on the ice, on the field, on the tracks, or on the slopes,” said CPH Chief of the Medical Staff and Radiology Department Chair Michael Maresca. “And his experience in trauma medicine and total joint replacements, which includes revisions, will be a definite asset to our emergency department and our community.”

Perrier completed his medical degree and a residency in orthopedic surgery at the Université de Montréal, Québec. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, and is certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery.

Perrier has been the the Clarkson University Golden Knights hockey team doctor for nine years and participates in pickup games for various charities.
