OGDENSBURG -- Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center has hired orthopedic surgeon Dr. Steven A. Mussett.

Along with general orthopedics, including joint replacement surgery, Mussett has a special interest in foot and ankle surgery. He earned his medical degree from the University of Cape Town, South Africa.

After medical school he relocated to Ottawa, Ontario, where he completed a residency in orthopedic surgery at The Ottawa Hospital. From there, he went on to obtain two clinical fellowships -- one in adult hip and knee reconstruction at The Ottawa Hospital, and the other in foot and ankle reconstructive surgery at University Health Network Toronto Western Hospital, Toronto, Ontario.

He is a member of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons, the Canadian Orthopedic Association, the Canadian Medical Association and several other professional organizations. Mussett has also participated in published research papers and is affiliated with Queens University, Kingston, Ontario.

"I feel privileged and excited to be joining the team at Claxton-Hepburn,” Mussett said in a prepared statement from the hospital. "The key to staying healthy is to keep moving, and to keep moving we need our bodies to be in the best possible condition they can be ...
