POTSDAM -- Canton-Potsdam Hospital has added board certified orthopedic surgeon Marco Berard to its medical staff.

Dr. Berard is seeing patients at CPH’s St. Lawrence Orthopedics and Sports Medicine office at 49 Lawrence Ave., Potsdam.

Berard completed his medical training in at the University of Montreal, where he studied biomedical sciences and spinal instrumentation. Berard also served as chief resident, gained experience in adult and pediatric trauma, and completed a fellowship in arthroscopic surgery and sports medicine at the university, and is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

“Regardless of the treatment or surgery discussed, it’s important that my patients feel reassured and comfortable with what’s being recommended,” said Berard. “My goal is to provide a comprehensive approach to orthopedic care and I’ll do my very best to get each of my patients back to enjoying and doing what matters most to them,” he said.

Berard joins a team of five orthopedic surgeons/providers on the hospital staff, including Dr. John Savage, Dr. Jeffrey Haasbeek, Dr. Luc Perrier, and Nurse Practitioner Kristin Miller. Physician Assistant Richard Finch has practiced orthopedic care with Berard for many years and has also joined the staff of St. Lawrence Orthopedics and Sports Medicine.
