OGDENSBURG -- Ogdensburg Gateway Plaza will have two new stores in October, according to Nigro Companies, which owns the 240,000 square-foot shopping center.

Steven Powers, vice president of Nigro Companies, Albany, said new and used video game retailer GameStop and health and nutrition store GNC will move into vacant 1,800 square foot storefronts.

Powers said the addition of the stores will fill the strip mall located on Canton Street.

"That fills up the shopping center," he said, adding that the stores located in the mall, including Jo-Ann Fabric and Price Chopper have been doing "well."

Maurices, a women's clothing store also recently opened in the shopping center.

"We are happy to see the new additions and hope that the people of Ogdensburg patronize the stores," he said.

Powers said renovations at both of the stores are underway. And an expansion at the shopping center is being considered.

GNC is a Pennsylvania-based retailer of health and nutrition related products.

GameStop is a Texas-based software retailer with more than 6,700 stores worldwide.
