OGDENSBURG -- Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center has recruited a psychiatrist for its staff.
Dr. Pakkam Rajasekaran is providing inpatient psychiatric care at Claxton-Hepburn’s Mental Health Center.
Rajasekaran comes to Claxton-Hepburn from Mary Imogene Bassett Health Care in Cooperstown, where he has been an attending psychiatrist since 2008. Before that, he practiced in Maine.
Rajasekaran received his medical degree from Madras Medical College in India and completed an internship at Madras Government General Hospital. His residency was at Brookdale Hospital Medical Center, Brooklyn.
He is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
Rajasekaran lives Ogdensburg with his wife Mary. His interests include reading, traveling and watching ships go down the St. Lawrence River.
