OGDENSBURG -- History was made today as Ogdensburg International Airport welcomed its first-ever passenger from Tampa/St. Pete Airport, Frank R. LeFleur of Lakeland, Fla.
“It was a great direct flight and was very convenient to fly into Ogdensburg. I previously used other airports but Ogdensburg is much more convenient” said LeFleur.
Welcoming LeFleur to Ogdensburg were Ogdensburg Bridge and Port Authority (OBPA) Chairman Samuel J. LaMacchia and Authority Executive Director Wade A. Davis.
The airport welcomed all inbound and outbound passengers for its first Tampa/St. Pete flight with snacks, literature on the area, and promotional items.
“West-coast Florida access will be a great driver for the airport as we continue to expand,” said LaMacchia.
Allegiant also offers service from Ogdensburg to Daytona Beach and Orlando at Sanford Airport.
“Direct access to central Florida four times per week via Allegiant is a game-changer for the air traveler” said Davis. "The flexibility of four times per week service coupled with two Florida airports which are only 120 miles apart offers the air traveler the greatest number of travel combinations and date flexibility. You can now get away for a couple of days, a long weekend, a week, or an extended vacation directly out of Ogdensburg.”
