OGDENSBURG -- The Ogdensburg Bridge and Port Authority has welcomed another new customer, Richardson International, to the Port of Ogdensburg with the arrival of Canadian corn.

Canada’s largest privately owned agribusiness, Richardson International anticipates delivering several thousand tons of corn this year for storage at the port, according to Richardson International Merchandising Manager Gino Becerra. The corn will be shipped to customers in the Northeast by truck and rail.

“Things are going well and we expect the business to grow” said Becerra. “Next year the company may purchase grains in the Northeastern United States and load a vessel, depending on local crop conditions. It all depends on where the economics are most favorable”.

“We are very pleased to welcome Richardson International to the Port of Ogdensburg further expanding our agricultural business,” said Wade A. Davis, Executive Director. “Richardson International’s presence at the port will be good for the trucking industry, the railroad, and the port facility.” said John A. Rishe, Director of Commercial and Industrial Development.
