St. Lawrence County gained 200 non-farm jobs in December compared to the same month in 2014, according to preliminary figures from the state Department of Labor. However, that still below the state average.
The DOL says St. Lawrence County 42,700 non-farm jobs last month, compared to 42,500 in December 2014. That's a .5 percent increase.
Statewide, that number went up 1.7 percent.
To our east in Franklin County, non-farm jobs dropped by 2.1 percent, from 19,300 in December 2014 to 18,900 last month.
To our west in Jefferson County, that number remained flat at 41,900, DOL said.
The figures are not seasonally adjusted, according to the report.
