NORWOOD -- Norwood residents have over 250 signatures on a petition asking Community Bank, N.A. to keep its branch there open more than the two days a week it is open now.

“They have cut back starting today,” said Mayor Jim McFaddin Wednesday.

The branch had been opening for business five days a week, but is now to be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. two days a week.

Village of Norwood Trustees Tim Levison and Richard Boprey have circulated and presented a petition signed by over 250 Norwood area residents requesting Community Bank to reconsider the decision to have the branch open only two days a week

They want the branch to remain open a minimum of four hours, four days a week with evening hours one day.

They cite the negative economic impact and problems it creates for the elderly as the reason for the request.

Mayor McFaddin says all village board members -- Tim Levison, Richard Boprey, Jim Besaw, Mike DiVincenzo, and the mayor himself -- agree with and support the effort.
