NICHOLVILLE -- Slic Network Solutions, a fiber-to-the-home provider based in St. Lawrence County, exceeded a combined total of 5,000 customers; the largest ever in the company’s history.
Slic offers free installation of services in many rural areas under RUS grants awarded in 2010. These federal programs provided $33 million in funding to construct over 800 miles of fiber optic network throughout 23 rural North Country communities.
The free installation component of these programs expires May 29.
To celebrate the 5,000 customer milestone, they are offering new TV subscribers a limited-time offer of free HD or whole-home DVR service for 6 months. In addition, new TV customers get an unlimited number of TVs connected with extra set-top-box/receiver fees waived for the first year. Existing Slic broadband customers also qualify for free installation of upgrades to TV service.
