OGDENSBURG -- An $88,000 loan from St. Lawrence County economic development agencies will create four jobs at new Ogdensburg manufacturing facility.

The River Valley Agency and Greater Massena funds will allow BlastBoss, Inc. $88,000 to purchase equipment for a new operation in Ogdensburg.

BlastBoss, Inc., owned by Mark D. Brown, manufactures multi-media sandblasting and surface preparation systems, as well as all media and support products.

BlastBoss expects to create at least four jobs in the next three years.

The company manufactures their own line of multi-media blasting systems and carries a full line of “green” blasting abrasives, including sodium bicarbonate, walnut shells, and recycled glass.

The company will be setting up an onsite bagging operation in an 8,500 square foot facility located at 7814 State Highway 68 in Ogdensburg at the former Factory Fireplace location.

Blast Boss will be taking advantage of Ogdensburg’s proximity to raw material supplies of recycled glass materials in Canada as it moves forward with its project.

Robert McNeil, St. Lawrence River Valley Redevelopment Agency Chairman, said he was please that this and other recent loans would help bring jobs to St. Lawrence County.

“From the inception of the RVRDA, we have wanted to see these resources translate into the jobs that we so badly need in this area.”
