MASSENA -- Stephens Media Group, the owner of 101.5 The Fox, Mix 96.1, and 1340 WMSA, is launching a new show and host for its weekday morning program on Mix 96.1.
The new show is called, “The Morning Show with Elijah Winfrey.”
Winfrey has been with the company in November 2016 as an intern and has quickly moved through the ranks to be the Mix 96.1 Morning show host.
At 24 years old, he is one of the youngest morning show hosts in the company.
The show will feature segments such as Twisted Trivia, Weird News, Movie Madness, Silly Song of the day, and an advice column like feature called “Ask Nana” which will feature Elijah’s grandmother, Bonnie Winfrey, who lives in Georgia.
The show airs weekdays on Mix 96.1 from 6 to 10 a.m.
“I would like my show to be a welcomed escape for listeners who just want to be entertained. I am also aiming to get to know my listeners on a personal level so that we can continue to have the family atmosphere that has been a staple of Mix 96.1. This is an incredible opportunity for me, and I’m excited to broadcast great music, conversations and cover local topics and events on a daily basis,” Winfrey said in a prepared statement.
Stephens Media is also renovating the Mix 96.1 studio in Massena and has added Patrick Burnett to the morning show.
