POTSDAM – A new hot dog stand has popped up in Potsdam.
John Rose retired as a custodial supervisor for the county after 35 and a half years and decided he wanted to run a hot dog stand.
"I was always cooking at home and at camp," John said, and he enjoyed it, so this is his retirement project. "I bought a cart and I'm doing it."
He and his wife Lynn call it Rosie's Hawg Dogs, set up on Maple Street in Potsdam on Mondays and Fridays and at the farmers' market off of Main Street on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
He gives credit to musician, public radio host, and another purveyor of tubular meats in Canton, Barb Heller of Leaner Weiners, for helping him to get set up.
