POTSDAM – A new fast food restaurant might be coming to Potsdam.
The so-far unnamed restaurant is asking for a zoning change at 3 Sisson St., just off of Outer Market Street, from residential R-2 to business B-1 for the establishment and its parking lot.
Village Trustee Eleanor Hopke said that a representative of the developer, Bohler Engineering, made a presentation in behalf of their client to village officials Monday night at what was to be a Board of Trustees meeting, but not enough members were present to constitute a quorum.
There was an item on the agenda to refer the zoning change request to the village Planning Board and to set a hearing date on the proposed change, but since the board could conduct no business, the hearing date was not set, but the referral to the planners could be made without a resolution, Hopke said.
Hopke said she believed the plan for the “quick-food place” includes a drive-through window.
No paperwork has yet been filed with Potsdam Code Enforcement Officer Greg Thompson, he said.
According to Allen Tunnell Corporation’s TaxLookup.net, the property, currently listed as owned by James and Michelle Sheehan, is assessed at a total of $71,400.
