OGDENSBURG -- Sen. Patty Ritchie says more than 50 employers attended the third annual job fair today at the Ogdensburg Oddfellows, Linden Street.
"The job fair was very busy again today with over 50 employers and most said they were looking to hire from the fair," Ritchie said.
Ritchie said there was a huge line when the doors opened today at 1 p.m. and a steady flow of people came in and out throughout the afternoon.
"It's probably hard to believe, but when I talk to employers I hear how they have openings they can't fill and when I talk to people they say they can't find jobs. This is an opportunity to put those people together in the same room.
Ritchie said she did not know how many people attended the event, prior to the doors closing, but was pleased with the turnout.
Sen. Ritchie represents the St. Lawrence County towns of Canton, De Kalb, DePeyster, Edwards, Fowler, Gouvernor, Hammond, Hermon, Lisbon, Louisville, Macomb, Madrid, Morristown, Oswegatchie, Rossie, Waddington and the City of Ogdensburg, and all of Oswego and Jefferson Counties.
