MASSENA -- The Healthy Way will relocate next month.

The health food store, currently in the Harte Haven Plaza, is expected to move to 396 South Main St. in late October. The building used to house the South Main Diner and, more recently, St. Lawrence Café and Confections.

“I bought the building. I’m paying $1,500 in rent here and bought the building with taxes and everything for $700 a month,” storeowner Bing Thomas said.

The new location will open once he adds an extra 720 square feet, bring the total size to about 2,200 square feet, Thomas said.

He isn’t planning on adding to his inventory, but needs the extra space to accommodate what he has now, Thomas said.

The business sells health food and related products and services.

He said he has what he calls “The Wall,” which includes herbs and spices that he says “are fresher than what you get at the grocery store and organic.”

The Healthy Way also does iridology, compass mapping and ionic footbaths.

They also operate a store in Ogdensburg.

Their hours in Massena are Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. They close Sundays.
