MASSENA -- The village board will hold a public hearing Feb. 21 at 5:35 p.m. for proposed changes to local taxi law.
Mayor Tim Currier said they aren’t yet ready to make their recommendations public, but they will release the proposal prior to the hearing.
“It’s going to resolve some ongoing issues going on and a number of cabs from outside who are not licensed are coming in for Medicaid calls,” he said.
“There’s supposed to be a restriction on how old the vehicle can be and some are coming in with real old vehicles and it isn’t safe,” Trustee Francis Carvel said.
Currier said he has discussed the proposal with local cab companies.
