Laurie Logan, branch manager of North Country Savings Bank, poses with Julia Rose, executive director of Massena Memorial Hospital Foundation.
MASSENA -- The Massena Memorial Hospital Foundation recently received a total of nearly $4,000 for staff autism training.
The Children’s Miracle Network gave $2,982 grant for the training, and North Country Savings Bank donated $1,000.
Training will also include first responders and law enforcement.
“It is equally important to provide similar training to first responders to ensure the lowest possible level of emotional escalation upon transport as the patient is presented in our emergency department,” said Julia Rose, executive director of the foundation.
Training will be held in early 2014.
To donate mail the foundation at 1 Hospital Drive, Massena, 13662 or call 769-4602.
