MASSENA -- The Village Board of Trustees at their meeting tonight, March 21, will hold public hearings for a tax cap override and a new taxi law.
They may not use the tax cap override. They are approaching budget talks, and will need to pass a local law if they exceed the state-mandated tax cap. The board will also set budget work sessions, but Mayor Tim Currier will not present his spending plan until April 4.
The taxi law will establish a list of cab regulations in the village. They tried to pass an earlier version of the law in February, but went back to the drawing board after hearing a local cab company owner’s concerns. Read more about that at goo.gl/qzDNFq.
The meeting will be at 5:30 p.m. in the Town Hall’s second floor board room, 60 Main St.
