MASSENA -- Nancy and John Bogosian received the prestigious Community Support Award for achievements such as raising $200,000 and Mark Bogdan was given the Business Leadership Award last night at the Greater Massena Chamber of Commerce’s Wine and Food Show.

Christine Lawrence and Christina Hamel were named chamber Volunteers of the Year, and Racheal Nezezon of Verville’s Flower Shop received the Excellence in Entrepreneurship Award.[img_assist|nid=197345|title=Excellence in Entrepreneurship Award winner Racheal Nezezon is flanked by chamber executive director Nathan LaShomb and Assemblywoman Addie Jenne.|desc=|link=none|align=right|width=250|height=149]

Chamber Executive Director Nathan LaShomb described the Bogosians as “two incredible people who have committed their time to fundraising and volunteering for various organizations in Massena raising over $200,000 collectively,” he said in a news release.

Mark Bogdan was given the Business Leadership Award, as a “successful business owner while being an active member of the community. Truly paving a path for other business owners to follow," the chamber's statement said.

Volunteer of the Year Award winner Christine Lawrence is “an extraordinary individual” who devoted herself to supporting many of the chamber’s activities and events, such as the Farmers’ Market, Wildlife Festival, and Harvest Festival, among many others, the chamber said.

Volunteer of the Year Award winner Christina Hamel is an “exceptional person who has dedicated much time and effort in helping the Massena Chamber’s many endeavors,” including serving as a Chamber Ambassador for over 30 years.

Excellence in Entrepreneurship Award winner Racheal Nezezon is described as “a driven individual who has excelled in the building up and running of their business, all while providing extraordinary quality and service.”

“She is always learning and innovating,” and is “committed to shop local.”

The chamber’s 85th Soiree-Wine and Food Showcase is the successor event to annual dinners held for decades.
