MASSENA -- Massena area residents can now order from BJ's Wholesale Club and Price Chopper and have their groceries, alcohol and everyday essentials delivered to them in as little as one hour.

Retail delivery service Instacart (www.Instacart.com) is expanding into the Massena area to over 12,000 people in northeastern St. Lawrence County, including Zip Codes 13662, 13667, 13655, 13621, 13613, 12914, and 13697, Massena, Norfolk, Akwesasne, Chase Mills, Brasher Falls, Bombay, and Winthrop.

Instacart says it also plans to use more than 100 new shoppers for selection and delivery.

Instacart, based in San Francisco, invites customers go to www.Instacart.com or use an Instacart mobile app to select their city or store, add items to a virtual cart, then choose a delivery window, for instance within one hour, within two hours, or up to five days in advance, and check out.

An Instacart shopper accepts the order, uses the shopper app to guide them through shopping, and delivers the order to the customer at the designated time.

The delivery fee is $5.99 for orders of $35 or more.

There is also Instacart Express membership, which enables unlimited free same-day delivery on orders of $35 or more. After a free trial period, Instacart Express membership is $14.99 a month or $149 a year.

First-time users can enter the code HEYMASSENA at checkout to get $20 off an order of $35 or more, plus a free first time delivery. This offer expires June 19.
