POTSDAM -- Maple Run Emporium, 49 Market St., a specialty shop that showcases maple products, gourmet foods, quality cookware, scents, and a gallery of pottery, paintings, baskets, and woodturnings by local artists, is celebrating its third anniversary.
To launch its fourth year, the shop has a celebration sale throughout April with discounts of up to 50 percent on some items.
During the sale, Maple Run will celebrate its fourth Easter. "Easter is a special landmark because it was the shop's first holiday featuring seasonal merchandise. Everything about the occasion was new and a first," said owner Mary Hilton.
While the central theme of maple anchors the shop, Maple Run is continually expanding its scope as a gourmet grocery, kitchen store, and gift shop. To accommodate the ever-increasing stock, Hilton often changes the layout of the store.
"Many people comment on how different the shop looks now compared to three years ago, or even a year ago," said Hilton.
The sale is on in the store all April.
Visitors to the shop in April are invited to enter the drawing for a gift basket.
Maple Run Emporium is open Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. More info: 274-0102, info@MapleRunEmporiums.com, www.MapleRunEmporiums.com.
