OGDENSBURG -- Ogdensburg International Airport has reached agreement with rideshare company Lyft for passenger service.
The airport provided Lyft with pickup locations near the airport’s baggage claim, according to the announcement from the Ogdensburg airport.
Passengers arriving at the airport can now be picked up and dropped off near the terminal, the press release said.
The pickup areas are designated with and orange and white “Rideshare / Lyft” airport signs. Drivers are not, however, allowed to solicit customers or wait on airport property without an assigned or pre-scheduled customer, in order to keep vehicle traffic moving as quickly as possible.
“A typical airport relegates it’s rideshare passengers to inconvenient pickup locations, Ogdensburg Bridge and Port Authority Executive Director Wade A. Davis said in a prepared statement. “By contrast, OGS offers premier rideshare locations steps from baggage claim.”
Lyft is available in more than 350 cities and 220 airports, the press release said.
